Position:         Attendant

Reports To:   Chief, Passenger Services

Rate of Pay:     $9.00 per hour plus tips

This position is responsible for delivering the Company’s high standard of passenger service to our customers while they are within the Runways’ system.  The position is responsible for the safety of all passengers, fellow employees, and others while operating Runways’ vehicles in revenue service.  The incumbent is also responsible for the collection of tickets and fares from passengers, assisting passengers whenever requested or needed, loading and unloading baggage, providing information on Runways’ services and destinations, and operating all service safely and on schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

1.                   CONTINUING QUALIFICATIONS                                                                             25%

 

Ò      Maintains competency and training in vehicle and equipment operations

Ò      Maintains current license and certification requirements (if applicable)

Ò      Reports to work on time and substance free (drugs and alcohol)

Ò      Maintains a clean driving record (no moving violations)

Ò      Assists other attendants and employees as necessary

Ò      Follows all supervisory and management instructions

Ò      Passes an annual physical

 

2.                   PASSENGER SERVICE                                                                                           25%

 

Ò      Transports passengers safely and on time

Ò      Greets passengers and makes them feel welcome on board Runways

Ò      Performs all duties in a safe and timely manner

Ò      Operates revenue vehicles in a safe manner following Runways policy

Ò      Assists passengers boarding and alighting

Ò      Loads and unloads luggage at passengers’ request

Ò      Maintain a thorough knowledge of Runways’ station stops, service areas, and connecting transportation options to thoroughly answer all customer questions

 

3.                   EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES                                                                                  20%

 

Ò      Ensures revenue vehicles are properly maintained and stocked

Ò      Maintains accountability for all supplies and equipment

Ò      Follows proper procedures for inspecting and maintaining equipment

 

4.                   PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT                                                                                    15%

 

Ò      Interacts professionally with passengers, fellow employees, and others

Ò      Maintains a respectful and courteous manner in all dealings with others

Ò      Maintains a neat and professional appearance and complies with Runways’ uniform policy

 

5.                   DOCUMENTATION                                                                                                  15%

 

Ò      Completes all run reports thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner

Ò      Collects tickets and fares and accurately accounts for all passengers and revenue

Ò      Completes a pre-trip vehicle inspection prior to each run

Ò      Completes a post-trip vehicle inspection after each run

  QUALIFICATIONS

 

Ò      One to three years prior satisfactory performance in a customer service position

Ò      Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

Ò      Possess a high school diploma

Ò      Proficient in basic computer skills

Ò      Have excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Ò      Must be at least 21 years of age and be a licensed Florida driver

Ò      Must have at least three years prior experience driving passenger service (such as shuttle, paratransit, bus, taxi, or limo)

Ò      Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license of a class permitting the operation of the vehicle to be driven in revenue service

Ò      Must NOT have had a suspended or revoked driver’s license within the immediate past three (3) years, except for the administrative suspensions caused by failure to pay child support

Ò      Must NOT have had any conviction, at any time, for DWI or DUI, reckless driving, vehicular manslaughter, or any conviction of operating any kind of motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol or any illegal drug or controlled substance

Ò      Must NOT have had a chargeable accident within the immediate past three (3) years

Ò      Must NOT have more than five (5) points against their driving license within the immediate past three (3) years

Ò      Must NOT have had, at any time, any felony convictions for any crime against a person

Ò      Must NOT have had, at any time, any misdemeanor convictions for any crime against a person.  All other misdemeanor convictions must not have occurred within the immediate past three (3) years

Ò      Vision must be correctable to at least 20/50

Ò      Have the ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English

Ò      Be free of illegal drugs and/or substances
