NOW 10 REASONS TO TRAVEL BETTER ON RUNWAYS BETWEEN JACKSONVILLE, GAINESVILLE, AND ORLANDO

July 11, 2008

Starting Tuesday, August 12, 2008, Runways will begin operating ten daily trips between Jacksonville International Airport, Gainesville and the University of Florida, and Orlando International Airport.  With a new nightly departure to Orlando and a new daily departure to Jacksonville, Runways offers more daily departures from Gainesville than the two airlines serving this city combined.

New trip 9 will offer a later evening departure from Jacksonville International Airport at 7:45 PM to better connect to later-arriving airline flights.  It will depart Gainesville-University of Florida at 9:34 PM and Gainesville Southwest (Compass Bank) at 9:50 PM, arriving at Orlando International Airport at 11:45 PM.

New trip 10 will offer a late night departure from Orlando International Airport to Gainesville and Jacksonville at 12:55 AM.  It will continue from Gainesville Southwest (Compass Bank) at 2:50 AM and Gainesville – University of Florida at 3:00 AM to arrive at Jacksonville International Airport at 4:49 AM, in time for connections to 6 AM flights.

Both trips 9 and 10 will also make stops in Baldwin and Macclenny, providing better connecting times at Jacksonville International Airport, and providing for two daily round trips continuing through from Gainesville to Orlando.

These trips are now available for reservations through Runways’ web site, www.rnwy.com, or by calling toll-free at 1-800- 5RUNWAYS, or 1-800-578-6929.  Click here to view the complete new timetable effective August 12, 2008.

In addition to these changes, Runways is discontinuing its service between Jacksonville International Airport and the University of North Florida, Mayo Clinic, and Jacksonville Beach due to escalating fuel prices and relatively low ridership.  Runways’ President & Chairman, Darrell Smith, says, “Based on current and projected ridership levels, Runways cannot continue to offer its service to Jacksonville Beach at competitive fares with the sharp increase in fuel prices.  We will provide a much better service to the traveling public by shifting our resources to the Jacksonville-Gainesville-Orlando markets.”

Runways Transportation Company provides regularly scheduled surface transportation between Gainesville and the University of Florida, Orlando International Airport, and Jacksonville International Airport.  The Company also provides transit planning services to public transportation systems.  For more information on Runways Transportation Company, visit its Web site at www.rnwy.com or call toll free at 1-800-578-6929.
